Here I am playing catch up again! This time I am blogging about Erin and Pete’s Glen Eyrie Castle Wedding. Pete and Erin had a unique wedding. They combined traditions from their families heritages on both sides. Pete’s mother is Japanese. Pete and his family all wore traditional kimonos. Erin wore her Scottish tartan over her shoulder with her bridal gown clasped with a broach. The wedding was very intimate with immediate family and close friends. Erin had her best friend walk her down the aisle. It was an absolutely gorgeous day at the castle and what a perfect place for such a special wedding!

There were many tears of joy from Erin, Pete, and guests. They did a traditional tea ceremony conducted by Pete’s mother. They also incorporated the pinning of the tartan making this a very multicultural wedding. One of the most precious thing was the inclusion of all of their children.
Glen Eyrie is one of the most unique places for a wedding in the Colorado Springs area. It is a real castle with unique structure, wonderful lawns, wildlife, and gorgeous antiquities. While guests enjoyed refreshments, we did some family portraits and then were off to take full advantage of the photographic opportunities with the bride and groom. We love the stone arches that of course give the fairy tale feel of the castle for couple portraits. There are lovely pathways that are simply ethereal and remind me of something out of a storybook but, some of the best wedding pictures are the indoor rooms and believe it or not the ornate bathroom! I really do love the antique tile and the soft light. You can be the judge from the photos! I also think Erin looks a lot like the lovely Natalie Portman. She says she gets told that all the time.
All being said and done, the couple left to cheers from their loving family and friends. We were truly blessed to have another wonderful couple. The emotion on their faces was so apparent on how deeply they felt for each other. They also really enjoyed taking pictures and were great at ignoring us and letting us get their real smiles and emotions. Thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of your special day Pete and Erin! All the best for your happy marriage for years to come!
